Is it ethical for pharmaceutical companies to change the composition of a popular brand of medicine without changing the name? I am sure many of us would not even be knowing that the the formula of a particular brand has been changed.I can quote any number of examples where the formulas have been changed without even informing the medical community proactively. No mailers, no ads in No mailers, no ads in newspapers or even in the visual aids shown by the medical representatives informing all the stake-holders.Are there no guidelines by the government regarding this?
Many times we continue prescribing a particular brand without even realising that the formula has been changed. I would like everyone to share their experiences.
