Obesity has emerged as a serious health problem, affecting 650 million adults worldwide.1 However, obesity management is challenged by many unmet clinical needs.2,3 Despite several guidelines, recommendations, and intervention strategies to prevent and control obesity, it remains greatly underdiagnosed and undertreated.3 Evidence suggests that the perception and attitude towards obesity significantly affect its diagnosis and management.4 The Awareness, Care, and Treatment in Obesity Management – International Observation (ACTION-IO) study was undertaken to bridge the gap between the effect of perception, attitude, and behavior of people with obesity (PwO) and health care professionals (HCP) on obesity management.3
