Even after a lot of effort from the Government and NGO's in orienting all the staff of STI clinics there are still many drawbacks. There remains a lot to be done in improving their levels of understanding the symptomatic case management and diagnosis. Many of them exhibit very poor examination skills. Until and unless this part is addressed and fixed, we can not expect better results as they are the key factors of breaking the chain of transmission in both STI/RTI & HIV.
Some of these staff also exhibit discrimination attitude against the patients which leads to increase in stigma and in turn it gives loss of follow up and increase in missing the cases from community which can again revert as public health emergency rather than control. concentration on statistics is not the role to be played but concentration on trend of the disease and Gaps in approach is very serious issue. …
