Left main coronary artery (LMCA) stenosis is a relatively infrequent but important cause of symptomatic coronary artery disease. Left main (LM) coronary artery disease, defined as greater than 50 percent lumen narrowing, occurs in around 5~7 percent of all patients who undergoing coronary angiography. CABG has been the gold standard therapy for LM disease.
However, advances in PCI techniques and stent technology have allowed evaluation of the role of PCI for LMCA disease.
