Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is a common worldwide infection that is an important cause of peptic ulcer disease and gastric cancer. Since the publication of the 2007 American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) clinical guideline, significant scientific advances have been made regarding the management of H. pylori infection. However, whether these evidence-based recommendations and therapeutic strategies are well implemented in clinical practice are yet unclear.
In this regard, an online survey was developed by American researchers to evaluate the current management strategies enrolled by gastroenterologists for the management of H. pylori infections.
