In a major decision, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has banned strikes by Doctor and authorized the State Medical Council to take immediate disciplinary action against anyone going against the diktat. As expected, the move has ruffled a few feathers in the medical fraternity. Issued last week by MCI's Ethics Committee, the directive was approved on March 16 following the Supreme Court's judgment in a landmark case.
