Despite the mobilization of several groups around the 92nd Parliamentary Standing Committee report about the need for restructuring the Medical Council of India, there is as yet no political traction on the report, beyond tabling it in the Rajya Sabha on 8th March. Possibly as a counter-move, on 9th March, a petition was put up by an MP to the Lok Sabha Petitions Committee regarding 'Medical Reforms in the Country'. This petition was unfortunately admitted by a chair of the Petitions Committee, an MP.

Taking absolutely no cognizance of the existing Standing Committee report, the matter is now opened up again for suggestions.
