The Dubai Health Authority has recently issued a circular stating that the hospitals and clinics will have to bear the cost of patients’ treatment if the medical bills of the patients are found to be inflated due to unnecessary treatments and unjustified extended hospital stays. The DHA further announced that a medical committee will be established to address disputes over such unwarranted medical treatments. As per the circular, the patients will have to submit the complaints to the committee with a detailed explanation of the scenario along with medical evidence supporting the claim.

After a careful investigation of the case, a decision will be issued by the committee on an individual case basis. Source: Khaleej Times
