With the view to ease out facilities for non-nationals seeking medical treatment in India and boost the idea of medical tourism, the Consulate General of India in Dubai has announced that non-nationals (except Pakistani nationals) can gain benefits of Indian medical care on their primary visa for up to 180 days. The decision focuses on ‘the liberalized medical visa’ policy exempting the medical visa which was a mainstay in the past for seeking any sort of care like OPD consultations, treatment in any private or government hospitals. However, if the treatment of a person continues and crosses the allotted time of 180 days , the medical visa is mandatory for further treatment.
