I had a 10_ yr old male patient with meningococcal meningitis Type C confirmed by Latex Agglutination also developed purpura and knee jt effusion. Completed treatment few days back. Q.1 any superiority of Ciprofoxacin against Rifampicin or doesn't matter much Q2. Should patient be vaccinated.if yes after how much time or subsidence of disease.
Q3. My patient recd ceftriaxone f/b ciplox.. Do non serious disease require higher antibiotics if fever persists more than 7 days.(CSF culture was negative)
