Doctors from one of the renowned hospital in Mumbai have successfully performed a landmark cross-border remote robotic surgery on a 54-year-old woman from Oman with suspected kidney cancer, with the operating surgeon controlling the procedure from Mumbai while the patient was in Muscat, over 1,500 km away. The surgery was completed without complications, marking a significant milestone in global healthcare delivery and showcasing the potential of telerobotic surgery to expand access to specialised care beyond geographical boundaries. The patient was treated at one of hospital in  Muscat, where a team of on-site urologists remained present to intervene if necessary.
