Paresthesia due to periapical infections and inflammatory edema results in mechanical pressure on the mental nerve. Paresthesia should be treated early to have better treatment outcomes. 1 Axonal neuropathy is caused by damage to a particular part of peripheral nerves called axons. One of the most common presentations in these conditions is small-fiber neuropathy (SFN). SFN is marked by severe pain attacks, typically in limbs. 2 Pyridoxine toxicity is a well-known cause of SFN and axonal polyneuropathy.
