MCI has been once again dissolved, this time forever, till a new commission is established, as suggested by media reports. This can be considered as the Demonetization moment of MCI. It is rare for agencies established by Acts of Parliament to be dissolved even once. The MCI has this distinction of getting dissolved more than once. MCI was a body that had representation from across India and was the regulator for medical education throughout India.
