After the announcement of a dengue case in Oman, the Oman ministry of health has intensified its inspection campaign against the vector transmitting dengue virus. The specialists from the pest control department are taking precautionary steps by ensuring no water stagnation in any area. The campaign also includes awareness programs for citizens and residents in order to familiarize them with the symptoms and preventive measures.
The Ministry of Health issued a statement stating that it had carried out a field-survey to detect Aedes aegypti mosquitoes after identifying a case of locally-transmitted dengue fever in Seeb region of Muscat.
