Doctors should be free from fear and injustice. Isn’t it the least that they deserve? Sueing a doctor before multiple courts must be stopped. One medical tribunal, one trial, one punishment – for one wrong, is fair and equitable. Do you agree? This independence day lets all get together and take a small step to give doctors a fair chance for justice.
Currently, a doctor can be sued before at least 5 different forums simultaneously for one alleged wrong act of negligence. Dr. T. N.Ravisankar , IMA, Tamil Nadu has proposed a ‘Medical Tribunal’ having exclusive powers to decide cases of medical negligence. In this direction Institute of Medicine and Law (IML) and Docplexus want to join hands with IMA Tamil Nadu and try to bring a reform in this direction.
