Case report: The present report discusses the importance of timely audit and optimization of radiation dose in patients during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). Patient Population and Methodology: Forty-Four patients underwent PTCA with Philips Integris H5000 (the Netherlands) machine involving single or multiple stent placement guided under cardiovascular X-ray machine were included in the study. Dose-area product (DAP) meter was used to calculate the radiation doses for the patients undergoing single and multiple stent placements during dose.
Study Outcomes: The results showed 27-47% of dose reduction with copper filters and optimal exposure parameters.
