On the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that government is making efforts to eliminate leprosy as a tribute to the vision of the father of the nation. The PM recalled that Mahatma Gandhi had an enduring concern for people afflicted with leprosy. His vision was not just to treat them, but also to mainstream them into our society.
In a message on the occasion of the anti-leprosy day, Modi said we have to work together for socio-economic uplift of the cured persons and for their contribution in nation-building. He said we have to strive hard to ensure that these citizens of our country lead a life with dignity that Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of.
