Oral lichen planus is a chronic mucocutaneous disorder that presents in a broad range of clinical forms, such as unilateral or bilateral white striations, papules, or plaques on the buccal mucosa, tongue, labial mucosa and gingiva. The specific antigen that triggers lichen planus is unknown, although some agents potentially trigger it.
