Patients with mild-to-severe atopic dermatitis frequently require non-steroidal topical alternatives to avoid cutaneous atrophy and systemic exposure associated with potent corticosteroids. In an 8-week multicenter randomized double-blind Phase 2b trial published in the British Journal of Dermatology, adults with mild-to-severe atopic dermatitis received delgocitinib cream at varying concentrations (1 mg/g, 3 mg/g, 8 mg/g, or 20 mg/g) or vehicle cream twice daily. At week 8, delgocitinib cream produced significant, dose-dependent reductions in Eczema Area and Severity Index scores from baseline (-5.0, -4.9, -5.8, and -7.6 for 1, 3, 8, and 20 mg/g, respectively; all P < .05 vs vehicle at -1.9).

Application-site reactions were minimal, and no clinically meaningful systemic adverse events were detected. The trial establishes delgocitinib cream as an effective dose-responsive topical…
