A single-center retrospective cohort study published in Dermatology compared the short- and mid-term effectiveness and safety of tumor necrosis factor-alpha inhibitors and interleukin-17 inhibitors in adult Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe hidradenitis suppurativa. The study included 79 patients, with 25 receiving tumor necrosis factor-alpha inhibitors and 54 receiving interleukin-17 inhibitors. The primary endpoint was achievement of Hidradenitis Suppurativa Clinical Response 50 at week 16, with response at week 12 and safety as secondary endpoints.

At week 12, response rates were similar between the tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukin-17 inhibitor groups (72.0% vs 63.0%).
