In the era of super specialisation we enjoy the luxury of multiple sub/super specialties. Most of the time they get patients referred from either general practioners or specialists. Based on the experience of the referring doctor the patinets undergo investigations. But most of the experts ask for another set of investigations –which has financial implications also (apart from the trauma of being investigated again). What should be done before sending/referring Patients?
The case can be discussed with the super specialist regarding relevant investigations. Patient should be referred straight away. Information regarding the investigations should be gathered from internet/books/colleagues. Please give your comments regarding this.
