In order to bring more clarity on selling the medicines without prescriptions, a committee of the apex drug regulator has decided to create a category for over-the-counter (OTC) medications. If this move is approved by the advisory board on drugs, India would finally define OTC drugs and possibly curb the sale of some that should not be sold without prescriptions.
