Restructuring Medical Council of India was long awaited. I suggest that all pathies of treatment should come under one roof, that is HEALTH COMMISSION OF INDIA. it should be responsible for teaching, training and health care delivery of all types. The commission should have 5 zones, viz., North, East, Central, West, South. It should have the following councils under it. Medical Council of India. Dental council of India should be merged with MCI.
Council of AYUSH governing Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. Council of Alternative Medicine. Governing acupuncture, acupressure, and all the systems of treatment which exist. Council of nursing. Council of Paramedical sciences.
