The death of a 58-year-old nurse in Scotland has been linked to the use of tirzepatide injections, marking the first fatality associated with the weight-loss medication in the UK. The nurse, who had been prescribed tirzepatide for weight management, obtained the injection through a registered online pharmacy. Tragically, after her second injection, she began experiencing severe stomach pain and sickness. She sought treatment at the hospital where she worked, but despite medical intervention, she passed away on September 4.
Her death certificate cited septic shock, pancreatitis, multiple organ failure, and the prescribed use of tirzepatide as contributing factors.
