With increasing incidents of patient’s relatives assaulting doctors, the state minister for medical education stated that an adequate number of security guards would be deployed at all medical colleges across the state to prevent attacks on doctors and medical staff. Over the past few weeks, several doctors and other medical staff have been attacked at different hospitals across the state. On this background, the medical education minister stated “a special committee has been formed under retired state director general of police to look into the security problems at medical colleges across Maharashtra”.
