Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a frequent comorbidity in pediatric epilepsy. Although sleep problems are commonly reported in both children with primary ADHD and epilepsy, those with epilepsy-ADHD comorbidity have not been well studied. This article outlines the research findings of a recent study which investigated the effect of comorbid ADHD on sleep quality in pediatric epileptic patients. Several reports have established a link between childhood epilepsy and an elevated risk of ADHD.
