Attacks on humans by stray cows and dogs are a growing concern across India. In one such incident, a 46-year-old man was attacked by a cow while he was walking on the road in Gurugram. The patient was immediately admitted to the emergency department of a reputed hospital. Doctors found that the patient had multiple rib fractures on his right side, pneumothorax, and abdominal injuries. A medical team led by a minimal access and bariatric surgeon performed a thoracostomy to treat the pneumothorax in the patient.
