The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA) has launched ED T-JUDA Connect, a statewide mental health helpdesk and peer-support initiative aimed at providing confidential assistance to medical students, residents, and junior doctors across Telangana. Conceived to prioritize emotional development (ED), the program seeks to address the growing mental health concerns among healthcare professionals caused by long working hours, academic pressure, emotional exhaustion, and social expectations. According to data from the National Medical Commission (NMC), India has lost 119 medical students, 64 MBBS and 55 postgraduate to suicide in the past five years, several from Telangana.
