A multidisciplinary team at KIMS Hospitals, Thane, successfully performed a complex bronchial stenting procedure in a 6-month-old infant with severe left main stem bronchomalacia, offering relief from persistent respiratory distress and recurrent hospitalizations. The infant had a history of repeated respiratory infections and admissions and presented with significant breathlessness accompanied by marked sternal and intercostal retractions. Given the severity of symptoms, the child underwent a detailed diagnostic workup, including high-resolution computed tomography and CT pulmonary angiography due to a previous history of cardiac surgery.

Imaging revealed hyperinflation of the left lung and rightward mediastinal shift, highlighting the extent of airway compromise. Further evaluation through bronchoscopy identified type 2 laryngomalacia along with severe left main stem bronchomalacia,โ€ฆ
