Dear Friends, Today I finally read the NMC bill. Being an Intensivist, I can’t go on strike as a part of hospital’s commitment to provide essential services. This what I have understood so far (please correct me if I have missed any important point): 1. Section 32 of the NMC Bill gives 3.5 lakh non-medical persons the legal right to prescribe and treat all types of medicines by licensing them. 2. After a 6-month bridge course, Ayurveda and Unani doctors in the country will also be able to prescribe allopathy medicines like MBBS doctors.
