Suppose an infant has measles at 8 months age.Does UIP say the infant should still be given measles vaccine at 9 months? I know measles virus has only 1 antigenic variant & a single infection gives lifelong immunity but I have also read online that it is better to give measles vaccine if history of measles diagnosis is not 100% confirmed .as measles vaccine is totally harmless.
