23/M admitted with a h/o weakness & numness of upper & lower limbs.All vitals are stable.Done ser.Calcium &ser electrolytes.,30minutes after adm. pt was able to move his upper limbs as usual.serum K+ level was 1.6. Corrected with K+ supplements 6 hours after pt.was able to walk & run. His K+level was 5meq/l.Ecg was taken at the time of admission and after correction of K+., are within normal limits,we suspected periodic hypokalemic paralysis, then ref. the pt.
to higher center.so what r the DD, what other investigation could be useful for this.pt. had similar episode 3months back, treated outside ? Iv infusion recovered after 1 hour.pt.did not know what kind of iv drug has been given to him. Open for evaluation
