A junior resident doctor working at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, was attacked by a patient’s relatives. This was the seventh attack against a resident doctor in a year in the state. The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) has urged the state government to take immediate measures to protect resident doctors from violence. In addition, the President of central MARD expressed concern over the alarming trend of violence against doctors . He emphasized that resident doctors are working round the clock and that the Government and administration should protect them without waiting for resident doctors to revolt.
