What is the best strategy which is presently used in resistant cases of depression in Indian scenario? The patient is already on Venlafaxine, is doing better, but not responding 100%, and a need to add some more medication is felt. What are the various drugs which can be added to Venlafaxine to treat the patient better? I believe Bupropion and Mirtazapine are effective combos with Venlafaxine but are not being well tolerated or patient is not comfortable with the addition.
Other drugs which can be suggested to be added to Venlafaxine.? What the other alternative combination therapies which can be used, maybe if we withdraw Venlafaxine also and introduce fresh 2 medications? This could also be tried?
