Regular physical activity is recommended to reduce the risk and severity of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, knowing which time of the day is better to be physically active to yield better glycemic control will be more beneficial for T2DM patients. To determine this, researchers observed the impact of โ‰ฅ10 minutes of bout-related moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (bMVPA) on 2,416 overweight/ obese adults with T2DM. In year 1, the participants who performed bMVPA in the afternoon displayed the highest HbA 1c reduction compared to inactive individuals.

The result was also greater than other groups of participants, who performed bMVPA during morning, midday, and evening and at mixed timings, by 30-50%. In addition, the afternoon group was more likely to discontinue their glucose-lowering medications . However, no significant differences in HbA 1c were observed among the bMVPAโ€ฆ
