Conduction of human drug trial is essential for research, development of new drugs for welfare of human. But, the fundamental principle is" No research is above human welfare. "It is shocking news that drug for pain of osteoarthritis meant for animals studies was tested in humans unethically I.e without taking their informed consent. Some patients were given 500Rs and some were promised of giving them employment before giving them trial medicines.
Health of majority of participants were deteriorated. Enquiry panel has been set up by CDSCO. It is a serious offence and pharmaceutical company involved, doctor and hospital involved in such a unethical trial need to be punished strictly. What is your opinion on this case?
