Many doctors feel threatened by the internet. In the good old days, they were used to patients being docile, and pretty much doing everything they ordered them to do. They had a monopoly on medical knowledge, and patients were expected to do what their doctor told them to. However, in this day and age, when patients first go to Doctor Google before going to their own doctor, things have changed a lot. Patients are well-informed; they have done their homework; are aware of their options; and have lots of questions which they expect their doctor to answer.
Doctors feel threatened because they're not used to this style of practicing. It's completely different from the old-fashioned paternalistic style they have been using for donkey's years.
