Every year, March 24 th is observed as World Tuberculosis (TB) Day to increase public awareness of the disease's devastating health, social, and economic effects, as well as to intensify efforts to combat the global TB prevalence. The day commemorates Dr. Robert Koch’s discovery in 1882 of the bacteria that causes TB, paving the path for the diagnosis and treatment of the illness. 'Invest to End TB. Save Lives.' is the theme of World TB Day 2022, emphasizing the urgent need to invest resources to up the battle against TB and meet global leaders' promises to end TB.

This is especially important in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has jeopardized the End TB progress.
