Private clinics in Cyprus, Germany, and Switzerland are offering a “blood filtering” apheresis and anticoagulation treatment for patients with Long COVID. This is an experimental treatment with the use of off-label drugs. Despite the fact that this treatment is gaining popularity, such experimental treatment should be carried out only in the context of well-designed clinical trials as both apheresis and anticoagulation treatment are associated with several risks.
