Health officials in Chhattisgarh have reported that 13 individuals developed an eye infection following cataract surgery at a government hospital in Dantewada district. The affected patients were transferred to a hospital in Raipur for further treatment. The investigation began after two initial cases of eye infections were reported. Health officials launched a thorough inquiry to identify other patients who had undergone cataract surgery at the same hospital within the past 15 to 20 days.
They successfully traced 80 patients, discovering that 13 had contracted the infection.
