PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday night announced a complete lockdown for 21 days to curb the spread of COVID-19 across the nation. The lockdown has been extended till 14th April 2020 . While addressing the current situation of the outbreak in the country, the PM has assured provisions of INR 15,000 crores for coronavirus testing and treatment, as well as for personal protective equipment, beds, ventilators, and other infrastructure.

The PM has assured citizens that all the essential services will remain open and has reiterated the importance of social distancing, especially considering the panic buying at stores which followed the announcement of the lockdown.
