Rajasthan’s largest multi-level hospital, the Sawai Mansingh hospital (SMS) has emerged as a global leader in the number of surgeries performed in a year. Recently, the hospital posted its annual achievements claiming that more than 2.5 lakh surgeries were held at the hospital during the past year. “SMS Hospital, which is the largest government health institution in Rajasthan, is one of the largest hospitals in terms of infrastructure, patient care and research,” said Dr. Bhandari, principal and controller of SMS Medical College.
“ There were 79,970 major and 1,85,188 minor surgeries held at the hospital during the past year,” he further stated. More than 60.66 lakh patients were treated at the hospital in the year 2018 and in total 548 research papers were published from the college faculty in national and international journals. Source: DNA
