The Union Health Ministry on Friday stated that there has been 40% decline in COVID-19 cases in India. 1,076 positive cases  and 32 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, said Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total death toll in India stands at 452. The total number of cases is 13,835. Addressing a daily briefing here, Ministry of Health Joint Secretary Lav Agrawal said that the doubling rate, which means in how many days the number of cases gets doubled in the country, has reduced. "Our doubling rate of the number of cases is 6.2 days.

The analysis is based on data of the last seven days. It was three days before the lockdown. It is a product of how we are managing situations at field level. This is an ongoing process.
