The Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), comprising of 21 countries, had the highest age-adjusted comparative prevalence of diabetes (12.2%) globally in 2019. One in eight people in the MENA region has diabetes. The International Diabetes Federation has estimated that there will be a 96% increase in diabetes prevalence in MENA countries by 2045.
