The doctor who performed more than 500 sex selective abortions with the help of a quack has given the cops a slip. The cops have formed a special team to find this doctor. According to the reports received from Directorate of medical Services this quack helping the doctor was arrested 2 years back and jailed for running a sex-determination and sex-selective abortion clinic at her house. This lady was jailed for 6 weeks and was latter let out on bail.
The officials say that this quack runs a mobile scan center where she refers patients to this doctor after sex determination. It seems to be a well-oiled network of many such quacks. Although the doctor under this scam has completed her MBBS with a valid medical registration number, she is not licensed to do abortions under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971.
