In yet another case of a quack nuisance, a seventh-grade pass lady quack has been arrested for allegedly running a child delivery centre at New Azad Nagar area in Bhiwandi, Mumbai. The 48-year-old woman has been arrested by the authorities for cheating under the relevant provisions of the Medical Practitioner Act. This arrest has been made after health department of Bhiwandi-Nizampura Municipal Corporation learned that the woman was running an illegal delivery centre since last 20 years.
Acting on information, the team of health department along with Shanti Nagar police raided the place and arrested the woman and seized medicine, injection and other equipment from the centre.
