The woman, aged 90 had TB 8-9 years ago and was treated with ATT for complete 1 year. Then she had a fall incurring fracture hip, 5 years back, treated with surgery. Was taking NSAIDs for a long time. Stopped since 3 years, although needs them intermittently. In between, she was also diagnosed with hypercholesterolaemia with triglycerides around 400 mg/dl and was treated with statins for over 7 years. From last two years, she has developed a skin condition, where there is no abnormality seen physically.
But, she itches it, all over body intensely. She is even unable to sleep many nights because of pruritus. No effect with long term treatment with antibiotics like doxycycline or anti fungals. Since 1month, the skin is very dry and inflammed. Initially, she was responding to anti-histamines, then mast cell stabilizers. But, since last 6 months, she is not responding to any medicine.…
