Cataract surgery is one of the commonest surgeries performed all around the world which gives vision to blind people. With recent advances in ophthalmology, we not only do phaco with foldable pc i o l but also bifocal and trifocal pc i ol. Then we have lensar and robotic surgeries however what I have observed that most of the cases of i o l implantations are not up to genuine standards.
A patient illiterate 80 years of age with a vision of 6 12 does this pt need iol yes if one has a charted accountant or supreme court juge with a vision of 6 9 needing 6 6 vision and good qualiy is the one for i o l. We can put bifocal or trifocal in thses patients i request all my fellow ophthalmologists to do an honest practise of i o l implantations. Share your views.
