Case A 24-year old primigravid woman in 38 weeks of gestation was admitted with following observations: 5 days of high-grade fever Retro-orbital pain Thrombocytopenia A positive IgM and IgG dengue serology Physical examination revealed diffused rales on both lungs and clammy extremities Following parameters were noted after her hospital admission: Blood Pressure 92/76 mmH Heart rate 124/minute Respiratory rate 30/minute Body temperature 36.6 °C Oxygen saturation of 95% Her chest X-ray on admission revealed marked broncho vascular marking on her left and right basal lung regions. Diagnosis    An initial diagnosis of dengue encephalitis, and dengue shock syndrome with acute pulmonary edema was made.
