A team of doctors at the Emirates Hospital, Jumeirah, recently performed a highly advanced minimally invasive spine surgery on a 48-year-old man with severe lower back pain for the past 9 months. The patient was suffering from severe back pain for the past several months that restricted his daily activities and made him heavily dependent on muscle relaxants and pain killers without getting any significant relief. Detailed MRI and X-ray examination of the patient revealed a vertebral defect, along with degenerative changes caused by the slipping of one vertebra over the other.
